Indianapolis, Indiana | A One in a Million Opportunity

Zach went through the Novo Activating Prayer Cohort in August, and was especially impacted by the listening prayer and priestly prayer tools. He passed on the listening prayer “friendship questions” to some of his friends, and they all said they’d never had a relationship with God like this before.

Zach and his friends decided to go on a prayer retreat, spending a whole day in listening prayer and asking God to speak into every aspect of their lives. Zach had been trying to “make it” professionally as a soccer player. When it was time to pray about the professional aspect of his life, Zach heard one thing clearly: “Call Reggie”

Zach immediately reached out to his friend Reggie, who said he knew the guy putting on the US/Mexico indoor game at the end of that month. He got Zach into that game, which led to an invite to a pro combine—a multi-day event where athletes demonstrate their abilities in front of coaches, scouts, and team owners. In the end, Zach got drafted by a pro team!

Zach asked the scout, “Why did you want to pick me?” The scout answered, “I saw the way you represented yourself in the locker room at the USA game.” Zach had prayed over the team before they ran out on the field—and he’d used the priestly prayer model to do it (which apparently impacted quite a few guys in the locker room as well). Now Zach is poised to become a spiritual leader in the pro soccer world.

Listening prayer opened up a one in a million opportunity for Zach to become a professional soccer player. His obedience to that simple thought, “Call Reggie” has dramatically altered the course of his life. And what’s more, he led two guys to faith during the pro combine, baptizing them in the hot tub at the hotel! God’s ability to lead his people into places of Kingdom impact and open the right doors is absolutely astounding!
