South Asia | Sacrificial Giving to Reach the Unreached

Novo’s global partner in South Asia has an incredible vision to reach their entire country—over 750 districts! We’re talking millions of people! Multiplication within ministry is normal and expected. For example, Novo staff were able to train 1,190 “Master Trainers," each training 12 others, who together as a team aim to launch 50 DBSs and lead 500 people to Jesus in a year. There are currently 1400 local teams overseeing 125,632 Discovery Bible Study groups facilitated by everyday disciples! Not only are thousands of people learning the word of God, but the good news is going out with power—many people have testimonies of being physically healed, and some of being raised from the dead!

The commitment local leaders in this gospel movement have to reaching people with the good news is incredible—and they are almost all volunteers. They persevere through many hardships, such as physical beatings and other forms of persecution, and financial limitations. At one point the top ministry leader told a group of local leaders they’d have to slow their expansion to unreached districts because they didn’t have enough funds (ministry expenses for expansion and trainings are $700 per month per district). The group of leaders were so committed to reaching more unreached people that they decided to give their district’s ministry funding away so another district could be reached! They would trust God to provide for their own ministry needs in some other way.
