Dallas, TX | Healing at Children’s Health
After Marie, a Child Life Specialist at Children’s Health in Dallas, went through Novo’s Activating Prayer Cohort, she began using the prayer tools at her hospital. Her unit at the hospital felt very dark, and there was a lot of disunity and division among the staff. The Cohort team prayed for Marie to be able to find a team of believers to partner with on her unit, because she was doing all of this solo. Shortly after they invited her to go through the Disciple-Making Cohort (DMC). Her response revealed how God had already answered prayers: “Can I invite some other people from my unit?”
Five people from Marie’s unit went through the DMC together! They started to experiment with everything they were learning—praying together regularly, asking God to move, and having spiritual conversations with people. The whole atmosphere of heaviness and disunity has shifted as they’ve prayed.

Marie has a desk in a corner where she’ll sometimes sit, and coworkers will come to talk to her there. She calls it her “holy corner.” Working with really sick kids takes a toll on the staff, and Marie has a huge heart for them. Coworkers will pour out their hearts to Marie, crying at her desk. Using the tools she learned during the Cohort, Marie is able to powerfully pray for them and bless them.
They’ve seen miraculous answers to prayers for healing of patients as well. One boy they worked with had a congenital heart defect and a very bad prognosis. He was in the hospital for a long time, and Marie and the other nurses began to pray. Once the medical staff had done all they could do, they made plans to send him home without a lot of hope for his future. But something happened that is truly extraordinary—the boy went home and thrived! His heart defect was still there, and there was no earthly reason for him to be doing so well. “It’s miraculous!” another nurse told Marie.
