Nigeria | School of Missions for Movement
Sam was burdened by the need for more church leaders and believers to be mobilized, and started a mission school to train them
In 2016, evangelist Sam Mbok attended a training on Disciple Making Movements (DMM) facilitated by Novo’s Global Partner, Healing and Transforming Leaders (HTL). Sam became burdened with the need for church leaders to be mobilized into intercessory prayer concerning the land, and his prayer initiative eventually gave birth to a mission school—the Pankshin School of Missions (Pankshin is a city/region in Nigeria). HTL’s leaders were invited to train the entire school faculty and students in DMM, laying a strong foundation for gospel movements to take place.

Several graduates from the mission school have gone on to pioneer or develop movement-related work in a variety of contexts: from children’s ministries, soccer outreaches and drama groups to street churches, slum ministry, and college DBS groups. Many church denominations in Nigeria are ordaining school graduates as missionaries, evangelists, and pastors and commissioning them into DMM initiatives. The school has equipped and mobilized 90 volunteers to work as instructors at public elementary schools, using DBS to teach the Bible.
Ordinary men and women are increasingly being raised up to fulfill the Great Commission through DMM. This multiplication is continuing through house churches, neighborhood groups, campus ministries, children’s ministries, vocational access ministries, and street churches for the outcasts.
