Western Kenya | Healings and Baptisms
As they prayed, people were immediately healed.
Pastor Salim joined Novo’s Activating Prayer Cohort from his home in Western Kenya because he wanted to be better equipped to equip others. Little did he know, his simple step of obedience would have a profound impact on the Muslim community around him.
At the time, Salim was facing significant challenges in his own life. As Salim went through the Cohort, he and his wife realized they needed to start praying for one another. These prayers brought healing to their marriage. God changed Pastor Salim’s prayer life, and prayer became a lifestyle.
The church Pastor Salim led went through the Activating Prayer Cohort as well. They embraced the significance and power of prayer, and their own lives and marriages began to change. After completing the module on physical healing, church members felt compelled to pray for their Muslim friends and neighbors.
Their “yes” to God’s prompting became a spark that spread the good news of Jesus through their community.
As they prayed, people were immediately healed.
Their neighbors began asking, “What should we do now?”
The church members responded, “You need to go and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.”
Many neighbors accepted Christ and came to be baptized.
So far, Pastor Salim’s church has baptized 30 people from Muslim backgrounds who are now following Jesus and have become part of their church community.
Through prayer, the church has encountered the reality and power of God in new ways. And Pastor Salim’s vision is continuing to grow. He now plans to share Novo’s Activating Prayer Cohort with his network of 700 pastors across Eastern and Central Africa, praying that their lives, churches, and communities will experience similar transformation.
